How to hire great employees? It’s not about knowing how to hire employees its about knowing how to fire employees. In my opinion it isn’t about who you let in, it’s about knowing how and when to get them out if they aren’t a good fit for your company or business. That’s the skill that we should all be focusing on because if you don’t know how to fire employees, then you are going to miss new opportunities to hire a person who can do a better job than the last.
I’m an optimistic and a half glassful kind of guy. No one wants me to be interviewing at VaynerMedia. The reason behind that is when I’m interviewing a person I’m thinking “this kid got it” and people are telling me, “but this kid can’t even type” and I tell them, “but we can teach him!” I think everyone can do it and become a great employee or asset to the company! They kind of tried to take me out of the equation of hiring at VaynerMedia. But then I always clown on them and tell them, “but I hired you Fuck Face!”. It’s not about knowing how to hire employees its about knowing how to fire employees.
